Google Docs: Online Collaboration
One of the growing Web 2.0 trends is the use of the internet as a collaboration tool and not just as a source of information. To account for this trend, software is now being offered as a service (SaaS).
One example of this is Google Docs. Google Docs is a simple, yet effective tool, that improves work flow tremendously. For many, sending emails or documents over Google Docs is preferable to traditional email because:
• Google Docs can be access it from anywhere: It is hosted online, so it can be edited from anywhere, anytime.
• Google Docs allows the user to share changes in real time
• Google Docs enables you to give access to anyone, allowing them to edit and check the updates, instead of emailing the file every time it is changed.
